City of St. Charles Hires John Knoll to Fill Manager, Retail Development Job
Newly created position reports to Nadine Boon, Director of Economic Development

St. Charles, MO – John Knoll has accepted an offer from the City of St. Charles to serve in the capacity of Manager, Retail Development.  This newly created position in the Department of Economic Development reports to director Nadine Boon.  Knoll’s appointment was effective August 25.

“We couldn’t be happier to have this new position on board,” said Nadine Boon.  “John’s experience in a number of areas, including historic districts and tax credits will be an invaluable asset to the city of St. Charles. He also comes to us with a wide range of expertise in real estate, which is essential to our city’s future.  He’s a terrific sales person and will do well on both the recruitment and retention fronts,” she said.

Knoll joins the city staff with a decade of experience in business development and both commercial and residential real estate.  During his career, he has served as Director of Business Development for Electrical Connection, Right of Way Project Representative for St. Louis County Government Department of Highways and Traffic, Director of Real Estate Development for Grand Center, Inc., Development Coordinator for Pyramid Construction, Inc., and Owner/Developer of Ludwig Lofts, LLC.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be selected for the St. Charles job, and have the opportunity to be a part of all that the city holds in store today and in the future,” Knoll said.  “I look forward to working with current and prospective business owners to ensure St. Charles continues to be a viable and vibrant economic center going forward,” he said.

Knoll attended the University of Missouri-St. Louis, with a concentration in the areas of business and science.  He holds a Real Estate Brokers License from the American School of Real Estate.  He is a former member of the board of directors for Lucas Heights Partnership/Harris Stow College and a former member of the steering committee for the Bluemeyer/Hope VI Project.

A 1994 Olympic Festival volunteer, Knoll is an alumnae of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and an active tri-athlete and marathon runner.  He resides in O’Fallon, Missouri.
