St. Charles Emergency Management Team Advisory

WHO:    The City of St. Charles and Mayor York’s office in conjunction with the St. Charles Emergency Management team issued the following flood advisory outlining flood water activities on the north side of town.

In order to provide up-to-date information related to flooding, the city has established a hotline number.  For more information, residents and business owners are encouraged to contact the city’s Public Works department as follows:  636-255-6153.

WHAT:      Current water elevation on the north side of Hwy 370 is approximately at elevation 439.85 (the gauge at Grafton is 30.36, which is an elevation 434.15; the city of St. Charles is currently tracking 5.7 feet above Grafton).  The water is migrating through pipes under Hwy 370 to the south side with the water level rising until ultimately reaching the elevation on the north of Hwy 370 in the next 24 hours.  The rate at which the water flows through 370 will increase once the water exceeds the level of Elm Point Levee running along Sandfort Creek south of Hwy 370 and the railroad tracks.

The current projected crest is for the water in St. Charles to reach elevation 440.3 in St. Charles.  Truman Road remains closed south of Hwy 370.  As the water rises on the south side of Hwy 370, Elm Point Road will be closed due to water over the road near Zumbehl and at Huster Road.

Currently, there are no sandbag efforts underway.
