St. Charles Flood Update
St. Charles Emergency Management Team Advisory

WHO: The City of St. Charles and Mayor York’s office in conjunction with the St. Charles Emergency Management team issued the following advisory outlining current activities related to flooding conditions.  The city’s Emergency Management Team will officially stand down its operations today given that flood waters on the Missouri are beginning to descend and waters on the Mississippi don’t impose any potential threat to residents or business owners.

WHAT: Here’s a summary of current activity and related assessments in the city of St. Charles:
For public safety purposes associated with elevation issues and limited visibility, Frontier Park and DuSable Park are closed to the general public until at least Mon., Sept. 22.
Current road closures still include – North Main at Tecumseh Street and Hawning Road at Midwest Recyclers.  Drivers should adhere to road closure signage and avoid driving through standing water.
There will be no access to Bishop’s Landing, including boat ramp access; this area will be closed until further notice for public safety purposes.  This includes the Lewis & Clark Boat House and Nature Center as flood waters have limited access to this facility as well.
The city continues to communicate with all residents and business owners affected by area flooding.
A number of families have been displaced from their residences due to flash flooding.  The city continues to work with residents and the American Red Cross to ensure people have access to food, clothing and bedding.  For more information or to request emergency shelter, interested parties should call the local Red Cross office at 636-397-1074.
