City of St. Charles Hires Jerry Ruse as Assistant Director of Public Works
Established position reports to Debra Aylsworth, Director of Public Works

St. Charles, MO – Jerry Ruse has joined the City of St. Charles to serve in the capacity of Assistant Director of Public Works.  This established position in the Department of Public Works reports to director Debra Aylsworth.

“We couldn’t be happier to have Jerry on board,” said Aylsworth.  “His vast experience in the field of municipal engineering has already proved an invaluable asset to the city of St. Charles. Jerry comes to us with more than 42 years in both large and medium-sized municipal experience.  Due to his varied background, he’s had the opportunity to be involved in a broad range of city-wide functions over the years,” she said.

During his career, Ruse has served as City Engineer and Utility Superintendent for the city of Miami, OK; Engineering Supervisor for the city of Joplin, MO; City Engineer and Assistant City Administrator in Webb City, MO; and in two separate capacities for the city of Los Angeles, CA, including Harbor Engineer and Civil Engineer.  Ruse also formerly owned PRT and Associates, a private engineering company, in San Pedro, CA.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be on the St. Charles team, and have the opportunity to be a part of all that the city holds in store today and in the future,” Ruse said.  “It is a pleasure to manage the city’s day-to-day operations as it relates to the planning, construction and maintenance of the public infrastructure in our city, including city-owned utilities,” he said.

Ruse holds an associate of arts degree in engineering from Santa Ana Community College in Santa Ana, CA, and a bachelor of science in engineering from the University of California at Long Beach.  His professional licensures include, California Engineering Registration, Missouri Engineering Registration, Oklahoma Engineering Registration and Oklahoma Floodplain Administrator Certification.  A resident of St. Charles, Ruse is a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a member of the American Water Works Association and the American Public Works Association.
