The city of St. Charles Public Works Dept. will be conducting its Annual Asphalt Overlay Project over the next month. During this time the affected streets and alleys will be milled, a process which removes the top two inches of asphalt, and subsequently overlaid with two inches of asphalt. This work, on average, will only take several hours, spread over many days. In addition to the asphalt overlay, there will be some streets and alleyways which may require preliminary work such as base repair and/or crack repair. This work is weather dependant and any delay shall push the schedule back accordingly. See map (PDF file, 213 KB).

Both streets and alleyways shall be posted no later than 48 hours prior to the start of operations. During the posting residents are asked not to park their vehicles on the street or alleyway; any vehicle left on the street shall be towed at the owner’s expense.
