St. Charles CVB to Provide Recycled Shopping Bags
Friday, December 12, 2008
Cyndy Garrett, Laurie Feldman, and Vicki Erwin kick off the "Go Green In St. Charles" Program
WHO: Councilmember Laurie Feldman, Ward 3, will be on hand at Main Street Books, 307 South Main Street ringing the holiday bell for the Salvation Army and promoting the city’s new “Go Green in Saint Charles” program.
WHAT: The program provides green recycled bags to businesses on North and South Main Street for the holiday shopping season. Businesses will sell the bags for $1.75 each. This is not a money-making venture for the city, but rather an opportunity for shoppers to reduce, reuse and recycle. Even though this program will begin in the historic district, the city’s plan is to extend the offer to other merchants and proprietors citywide.
WHERE: Main Street Books – 307 South Main Street – in addition to Laurie Feldman, David Rosenwasser, director of the Greater Saint Charles Convention & Visitors Bureau and Vicki Erwin, owner of Main Street Books, will be on hand to kick off the use of recycled shopping bags on Main Street.
WHEN: Friday, December 12 – 10 a.m.
