Strategic Planning Continues in St. Charles with a Town Hall Meeting
Session will enable general public to review key elements to be included in the initial plan.
WHO: All area residents and business owners are invited to join Mayor Patti York, the St. Charles City Council, Michael Spurgeon, director of administration and a host of civic volunteers in the next phase of the city’s strategic planning process, entitled: Famous Past, Fabulous Future. This town hall meeting will be facilitated by Dr. Barton Wechsler and his team from the Truman School of Public Policy.
WHAT: This meeting represents an opportunity for all interested citizens to review input, feedback and goals compiled to date during initial community meetings, including key elements to serve as the foundation for the first draft of the new Strategic Plan. During the town hall meeting, final strategic issues will be defined and working groups formed to outline specific action items and develop an ongoing implementation schedule. Participants will also have an opportunity to define any additional priorities for consideration. Overall, the city’s planning process will:
. Achieve a shared community vision
. Pursue and plan for quality growth
. Encourage citizen engagement in our community’s future
. Set goals for the community, including our local government
. Provide guidance for municipal operations
