Here is What’s Happening in St. Charles this Weekend
Area events and activities cover the gamut from art to music to cycling.

St. Charles Plein Air Art Competition – Frontier Park and the Historic District
October 1-12
The term Plein Air is French for “in the open air.”  Artists will paint outdoors in
picturesque areas that encourage the public to become engaged in the creative
process.  Artists will have 11 days to complete their works, which must be finished in
their entirety onsite, outdoors within the designated boundaries surrounding the historic
districts in St. Charles.  Artists will check in daily at Framations, 218 North Main St., to
allow the public to locate artistic projects underway.  Show and related sale from 1-4 p.m.
on Sun., Oct. 12 at the Foundry Art Centre.  For more info, www.stcharlespleinair.com.

Bums Hollow Concert – Blanchette Park
Saturday, Oct. 4 @ 8 p.m.
The evening’s entertainment located in a natural, outdoor setting, will feature the classic
rock stylings of The Arbogast Band.  Special guest will be Common Ground.  Bring your
lawn chairs, kick back and relax.  For more information, call 636-949-3372.

Pedaling Out Cancer – The Family Arena
Saturday, check-in @ 7 a.m.
Show Me A Cure is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money to help in the
battle to find the cure for all cancers.  This inaugural bike ride along the Katy Trail will
benefit Siteman Cancer Center.  Cyclists will ride from The Family Arena in St. Charles
to beautiful Augusta for lunch and return to The Family Arena for an evening of fun and
entertainment.  The ride is approx. a 50-mile round trip; limited to 300 riders. For more
