MoDOT to restrict eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 at the Blanchette Bridge August 19
5th Street ramp to eastbound I-70 will be closed

The Missouri Department of Transportation and its consultant Jacobs Engineering Group will complete the inspection of the far two left lanes of eastbound Interstate 70 at the Blanchette Bridge Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at 7 p.m., weather permitting.

Beginning Wednesday, August 19, the two far right lanes of eastbound I-70 will be closed for bridge inspection. The lane closures will occur from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday, weather permitting. The two far left eastbound lanes will be closed for approximately two weeks.

During these lane closures, access to eastbound Interstate 70 from the 5th street on ramp in the city of St. Charles will be closed for safety. Motorists are advised to use Veterans Memorial Parkway west to Route 94 to go eastbound on I-70. Message boards and signs advising motorists of the detour will be in place.
