City to Host Open Houses Outlining Newly Revised Flood Maps

WHO: The Community Development department in St. Charles has sent a mailing to property owners in or within 100 feet of a Special Flood Hazard Area, to let them know the city has received preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) revisions. In order to relay the details of these revisions, the city is hosting two open house sessions for potentially affected property owners.
WHAT: The purpose of the open houses is to present updated flood risk data and provide information that property owners can utilize in making sound risk management decisions. The preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps will be available at these upcoming sessions for public review, and staff members will be present to receive questions and comments. Interested parties may attend the open houses to submit questions and comments, or may forward written questions and comments to the Department of Community Development in person or by mail at 200 North Second St., Rm. 303, St. Charles, MO 63301 or by FAX to 636-949-3557.
WHERE St. Charles West High School, 3601 Droste Road (cafeteria)
& WHEN: 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Wed., July 8 and Wed., July 15
ALSO: Due to the number of impacted properties and anticipated inquiries, questions and comments will not be received via telephone or email. All questions and comments must be submitted on the detachable form provided with the original letter (see sample content provided below). Flood maps will be on public display during the scheduled open house sessions and will not be available for review at City Hall.
