Senior Citizens Advisory Commission Sponsors Medicare Part D Workshop
Wednesday, October 21, 2009

WHO:   The St. Charles Senior Citizens Advisory Commission will sponsor two separate sessions of a two-hour workshop on the subject of Medicare Part D.  The program will be presented by Shelley Miller, a counselor with the Missouri state health assistance insurance program, entitled C.L.A.I.M. (Community Leaders Assisting the Insured of Missouri).

WHAT:   Ms. Miller will explain all the various nuances of Medicare Part D and its related components to simplify the process for area seniors wanting to know more about their prescription drug coverage.  The session is free of charge, but does require advance registration (see contact information below).

WHERE:   Criminal Justice Center – 1781 Zumbehl Road, St. Charles -- workshop to take place in the Community Room.

WHEN:     Tuesday, October 27 – two sessions, as follows:
  9 to 11 a.m. or 1 to 3 p.m.

WHY:   Medicare offers prescription drug coverage for individuals age 65 or older with Medicare. This is called “Part D.”  This coverage may help lower prescription drug costs and help protect against higher costs in the future.  The Medicare Part D plan, which is optional, is run by insurance companies and other private companies approved by Medicare.

ALSO:   For more information or to register for the session, contact Teri Hirsch of MEAAA by calling the St. Charles Senior Center at 636-579-0555.
