Strategic Planning Group Presents Final Recommendations

WHO: Members of the Strategic Planning Group in St. Charles will be available at this week’s St. Charles City Council meeting to present the fruits of their labor. Members of the City Council will receive the group’s executive summary, related visioning process and final draft of the strategic planning documentation compiled over the course of the past year.
WHAT: During this time, city staff members and more than 200 community volunteers have been involved in this long-range planning effort, entitled Famous Past, Fabulous Future. A series of Community Dialogue Sessions and Town Hall Meetings provided the backbone for up-close-and-personal issue group discussions focused on how to make an already great city event better. Committee members will submit their findings and recommendations from ten issue groups, as follows:

. Economic Development . Education
. Environmental Sustainability . Housing
. Infrastructure . Recreation & Leisure
. Riverfront . Transportation

ALSO: Committee presenters are: Scott Tate, Sara Schneider, Tom Besselman, Frani Melton, Jim Combs, Yvonne Clark, Bruce Melton, Ray Morse, Sharlotte Worthington, Richard Baum and Denice McKeown. An overview of the strategic planning process will be provided by Dr. Barton Wechsler and his team from the Truman School of Public Policy.
