Monday, February 09, 2009

During fourth quarter 2008, William “Willie” Hantack was hired by the City of St. Charles to serve in the capacity of Purchasing Coordinator.  This established position located at City Hall reports to Finance Director Karen McDermott.

“The goal of the Purchasing department is to maximize each dollar the City spends,” said McDermott.  “Given Willie’s background and expertise in purchasing and inventory control, we will be able to continue our efforts to maintain the highest quality in services and goods.”

Hantack most recently served in the capacity of Buyer for John Henry Foster Company of St. Louis, supporting the company’s purchasing department and maintaining a $6M+ warehouse inventory.  He was also responsible for expediting orders, returning incorrect items to vendors, and performing related accounting functions.

I’m thrilled to be a part of the St. Charles City staff,” said Hantack.  “I look forward to putting my purchasing skills to good use as we oversee the procurement of equipment, supplies, and services.  It is also my pleasure to be a part of St. Charles’ mission to maintain good relationships within the local business community,” he said.

Hantack started his career at John Henry Foster Co., as a temporary employee, rotating through the shipping/receiving, air service, and hydraulic service departments before being promoted to buyer.  Prior to that time, he worked as a crew leader for Pinnacle Plus Services, Inc. in O’Fallon.

Hantack holds a bachelor of arts in mathematics from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  He and his wife Kelly reside in St. Peters with their three children, Mitchell-10, Luke-6, and Samantha-3.
