City Announces High School Senior Scholarship Recipients

The City Council of the City of Saint Charles, Missouri, will present five $1,000 Scholarships for High School Seniors residing in the City of Saint Charles.  The scholarships will be awarded this evening to one student from each of the four High Schools located in the City of St. Charles.

There will also be one at-large scholarship awarded to a student residing in the City of St. Charles and attending a private or parochial high school.  The scholarships will be awarded based on a written essay of 500 – 1,000 words addressing the question:  “How Can I Help St. Charles Go Green?” 

Award presentations to the following students will be made at 7 p.m. on Tues., April 20 at the St. Charles City Council meeting (located in the Council chambers on the 4th floor in City Hall).

  • Kathleen Riddler – St. Charles High School
  • Megan Illy – St. Charles West High School
  • Caitlin A. Bighem – Orchard Farm High School
  • Brenton R. Harms – Francis Howell North High School
  • Amy Bogucki – Lutheran High School


The city’s eligibility requirements for this scholarship program were as follows:

  • High School Senior in the 2010 Graduating Class
  • Resident of the City of Saint Charles, Missouri
  • Submission of an Essay consisting of 500-1,000 words addressing the question:  “How Can I Help St. Charles Go Green?”  
  • Deadline for submission of application and related essay was Friday, March 19, 2010
