St. Charles Riverfest 2010 Celebration -- July 2 thru 4

WHO:            The St. Charles Riverfest Committee will host the city's July 4th holiday celebration July 2 through 4 in Frontier Park.  The 2010 event is sponsored by the city of St. Charles, St. Charles Jaycees, Archway Amusement, Davidson Amusement and Pepsi Beverages Co.

WHAT:          Special events for this annual holiday event include the following line up:

Fireworks Display -- July 3 & 4 at 9:20 p.m.  The holiday exhibition will be set to music and simulcast on KCLC 89.1 FM.

Parade -- July 3 at 10 a.m.  Begins at Blanchette Park, left on Randolph, right on Kingshighway, left on Clark, right on Main St.  Approximate arrival time on Main is slated for 10:45 a.m.

Carnival - Special Wristband Night -- Friday, July 2 from 4 to 11 p.m.  Stop by and bring the entire family to experience rides and games.  For the low price of $15 per person, experience unlimited rides!  The carnival rides and games will continue on July 3 and 4 from noon to 11 p.m.

Children's Area -- July 3 and 4 from noon to 6 p.m. daily.  Free arts and crafts projects for kids will be available just north of the Jaycee Stage.

Pole Vault Explosion -- July 4.  See top U.S. pole vaulters compete all day long!  Elite vaulters compete in the early evening as a part of a U.S. Track & Field sanctioned event.

Declaration of Independence -- July 3 (noon) and July 4 (5:30 p.m.).  Jim Deken, who serves as a host on the city's Cable Access Channel 990, will make a special appearance on the Jaycee Stage dressed as Samuel Adams -- statesman and founding father -- to present this patriotic reading.

WHERE         Frontier Park in St. Charles -- Riverside Drive along the Missouri riverfront.
& WHEN:      Friday, July 2 thru Sunday, July 4
      
ALSO:           For a complete schedule of events -- including musical entertainment -- please refer to flyer posted on the home page of www.stcharlescitymo.gov or www.historicstcharles.com.  The 2010 Riverfest flyer will also be included in the summer edition of City News, which is mailed to all residential households in St. Charles during the month of June.
