The MO Highways & Transportation Commission awarded the Blanchette Bridge contract to Walsh Construction Co. The $63 million contract will start January 2012. Impacts to traffic must be complete by December 1, 2013, with total completion by April 2014.

St. Charles has submitted a $10,000,000 Tiger IV Grant application to create a Complete Street in the Fifth Street/First Capitol Drive corridor at the City's Center. The St. Charles Gateways Project leverages transportation investment to stimulate economic growth in this important redevelopment district.

The City Council announced its 2012 grant campaign for interested not-for-profit organizations. The purpose of City Council Grants for the arts, civic, charitable and neighborhood groups is to enhance the quality of life in the St. Charles community, and to promote the public health, safety and general welfare of city residents. Applications are due by April 30.
