The Animal Control Department is responsible for:

• Enforcing pet ordinances
• Issuing commercial permits for animal-related businesses
• Performing bite investigations
• Investigate animal abuse/neglect cases
• Managing animal capture and/or impound
• Operating the City of St. Charles Animal Shelter
  • Coordinating pet adoptions
  • Performing animal euthanasia and/or disposal services
  • Renting live traps
  • Managing volunteers

Emergency Calls
Animal Control personnel will respond to emergency calls (bite cases, aggressive dogs, injured animals, etc.) before or after business hours.
