City Clerk

The City Clerk works for the City Council and is responsible for:

  • Preparing agendas for Council meetings
  • Maintaining official minutes of all Council proceedings

In addition, the City Clerk's office:

  • Registers voters
  • Is the legal custodian of the City's permanent records including resolutions and contracts
  • Supervises the retention of permanent records
  • Supervises the disposal of non-permanent records
  • Is the custodian of the official City Seal and the Code of Ordinances 
  • Files official notices for advertisement
  • Certifies official documents
  • Prepares documents for candidate filing for City elections
  • Receives referendum, recall, and initiative petitions from citizens
  • Administers Oath of Office for public officials
