Only certain traffic violations are payable without an appearance in court. The following traffic and ordinance violations require a court appearance either in accordance with State law or by order of the St. Charles Municipal Court Judge.
- Driving while intoxicated (DWI)
- Driving while your drivers license is suspended / Driving while your drivers license is revoked
- Speeding 26 miles per hour or more over speed limit
- Careless and imprudent driving (C&I )
- Failure to provide proof of insurance if involved in accident
- Any traffic offense involving an accident (regardless of extent of damages)
- All ordinance violations (ex. stealing, assault, alcohol possession, obstruction, loud noise, trespass, dog violations, housing code, etc.)
