The Public Information Officer is responsible for representing the office of the Police Chief and the City of St. Charles Police Department:
- on numerous community task forces, boards, and committees
- on civic and business organizations
- on all public service, other law enforcement agencies, social service, and emergency service agencies
The close working relationship between these agencies and organizations allows them to have direct contact with the St. Charles Police Department and the office of the Police Chief. With these partnerships, we work toward the goal of improving our community.
The Public Information Officer is also directly responsible for providing information to the news media and the public. The department has a professional, cooperative, working relationship with the media in the St. Louis metro area and throughout the country.
The Public Information Officer works in conjunction with the Neighborhood/Business Watch Program and other crime prevention programs.
