Duchesne & Hawthorn Culverts

The Purpose

The passage of the Proposition P ½ cent Parks and Storm Water Sales Tax in 2016 allowed several stormwater projects to be prioritized across the City. The Duchesne & Hawthorn Culvert Replacements were identified in the City’s Long Range Stormwater Plan in 2016, with the goal of reducing the risk of property flooding caused by undersized culvert crossings on Boschert Creek.

Construction is expected to start in the summer of 2022.

  • Construct box culverts at Duchesne Drive and Hawthorne Drive. The box culverts are 28' wide and over 10' tall.
  • Improve storm water conveyance and reduce the risk of flooding along the creek.
  • Reconstruct sanitary sewer.
