The Purpose
One of the main responsibilities of the Public Works department is the maintenance of the City’s streets and roadways, including the repair of the City’s concrete and asphalt pavements, in hopes to preserve the streets of Saint Charles. During pavement operations, residents can expect daily lane or road closures for the concrete and asphalt re-surfacing projects.
Improvements
- Replacing failing concrete streets slabs in subdivisions
- Replacing old asphalt pavement with a new layer
- Applying a new one-quarter inch thick pavement-wearing surface to asphalt streets
- Applying liquid sealer to help preserve younger asphalt pavement.
