Fire Prevention Bureau

The Saint Charles Fire Department has an extensive fire prevention program that focuses on community education and partnerships with local businesses.  We provide annual fire drills to all schools located within the City, as well as classroom and safety trailer visits to discuss fire safety topics.

The Department also performs annual inspections of local businesses.  These inspections give our crews the opportunity to evaluate businesses for safe practices and standards such as proper emergency lighting and fire extinguisher safety.  These visits also allow our personnel to become familiar with buildings within the City.  In addition, we provide fire extinguisher training for City residents and business owners upon request.

Recently, we have partnered with the American Red Cross to provide smoke detectors to City residents at no charge.  Please contact the Fire Chief's office for more information.
