Watchfire Ceremony

The POW-MIA Recognition Watchfire will be on Friday, September 20th at 6:30 PM at the Veterans Memorial at Bishop’s Landing. It is hosted by the St. Charles City Veteran’s Commission. The event will begin with the arrival of Patriot Guard Motorcyclists with police escort from marshaling area vicinity. They will start from Second and Clark, traveling from there down Riverside to Booneslick into Bishop’s Landing. The event honors soldiers being held as Prisoners of War or Missing in Action. A watchfire will be lit along the banks of the Missouri River as a symbol of hope that all of American’s soldiers will find their way home.
