Missouri law prohibits disposing of yard waste in a landfill. Instead, trash haulers take yard waste to designated sites where leaves, grass, and branches decompose naturally. In St. Charles, yard waste is collected once per week. All containers must be accessible and ready for service by 6 a.m. on the assigned service day.
Yard waste mixed with dirt or other trash will not be collected.
Acceptable containers are personal 32-gallon cans marked with a red "X". There is a 60-pound weight limit on any personal cans.
