Yard Waste Service

Missouri law prohibits disposing of yard waste in a landfill. Instead, trash haulers take yard waste to designated sites where leaves, grass, and branches decompose naturally. In St. Charles, yard waste is collected once per week. All containers must be accessible and ready for service by 6 a.m. on the assigned service day.

Two Yard Waste Programs Available for Residents

  • Subscription Program:  Curbside yard waste collection is available year-round for a 3-month minimum fee of $31.98. Once-weekly yard waste collection will be invoiced January through December with a 3-month minimum commitment.  This weekly service includes a maximum collection of 10 containers per week.   Acceptable containers are personal 32-gallon carts marked with a red “x,” 30-gallon biodegradable paper bags, bundles tied with string/twine and/or a leased 90-gallon yard waste cart from Republic Services.  Please note, the 90-gallon cart counts toward two of the 10 containers each week.   Please contact Republic Services to enroll.
  • Yard Waste Tags:   Those who want occasional yard waste collection can utilize the Yard Waste Tag Program.  The current cost of a yard waste tag is $3.53 each.  The tag must be adhered to each container placed curbside for collection.  Acceptable containers are the same as listed above.  Please note, the 90-gallon cart needs two yard waste tags.   Tags can be purchased at the locations listed below.
