Fifth Street Gateway Project construction is in full construction mode.
On Monday, June 13th lane striping on the Fifth Street project was completed. The grinding and installation of turn arrows, stop bars, and crosswalks will continue for the next couple of weeks along the project corridor. All traffic cones have also been removed from the project.
The landscaping contractor began working on the plantings by the Lions Club behind the River Wall, and that work will finish up the week of June 20th.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on June 16th to celebrate the substantial completion of the project. Thank you to all that attended, and thanks to everyone involved in the project.
All business's will remain open, so access to your local merchants remains unimpeded.
Construction is scheduled to be completed in June 2016.
As always please show caution when traveling through the construction site as lane restrictions, and temporary closures are ongoing as crews work to get the project complete.
