The purpose of this study is to analyze the City's water system by gathering data from across the city, identify areas of pressure transients (hammers), and attribute the pressure fluctuations and transients to events occurring (examples include pump cycling on-off, valve closings, et cetera). The study will analyze how changes could improve the system function by limiting or alleviating the hammering that is occurring. This data will be compiled and analyzed to update and calibrate our existing water model. Once the analysis has shown how positive results can be achieved at specific locations / occurrences / events, then projects can be identified to prevent or stop transient occurrences.
