Project Description   


Truman Road Reconstruction Project will replace the pavement along Truman Road from West Clay Street to the Southern Approach Slab for the Railroad Bridge (north of Ehlmann Rd.).  This project has been split into 2 phases.  Truman Road Reconstruction Phase 1 is from West Clay Street to Point West Blvd.  The project includes a new 5’ wide sidewalk along the south side of the roadway and a new 10’ shared use path to accommodate bicycle traffic along the north side.  Phase 1 includes raising Truman Road at West Clay Street to improve the sight distance at the intersection.  The project improves safety, ADA pedestrian and bicycle accessibility, and replaces pavement in poor condition.

Current Project Activities
  • Design Kick-off meeting was held in early January 2017
  • Phase 1 construction to begin in Summer 2017
  • Preconstruction meeting was held on June 7, 2017
  • Construction will began the week of June 26, 2017
  • Millstone Weber placed traffic control and began saw cutting in late June
  • Contractor began removing the existing pavement on the northbound lanes the week of July 3
    • Traffic is being diverted onto the southbound lanes; one lane of traffic in each direction
    • During the week of July 23, crews placed base rock for the new asphalt street. Crews also began to replace entrances within the project corridor 
    • The contractor completed paving the northbound lanes of Truman the week of August 6, 2017
    • Traffic will be moved to a section of the new pavement the week of August 13, 2017. Crews have started excavating the southbound lanes, entrances and sidewalk sections on the east side of Truman
