Zumbehl Culvert

The Purpose

Every two years, MODoT evaluates the condition of bridges and culverts. The existing metal pipe culverts under Zumbehl Road (where it crosses Cole Creek) were classified as structurally deficient. This project will replace the deficient culverts with a new culvert structure. 90% of this project is financed by outside funds.

Zumbehl Road (between Veteran's Memorial Parkway and Regency Parkway)

  • Metal pipe culverts will be removed and a new concrete box culvert will be constructed in its place. A retaining wall will also be built to suport creek bank.
  • Roadway pavement over the culvert and street inlets will be reconstructed
  • A new 5-foot sidewalk will be placed on the west side of the road. A 10-foot wide shared use path will be on the east side.
